Description: A mother worries about her 3 daughters' prospects for marriage in 1930s Shanghai.

The title makes reference to the Confucian classic book Nuer Jing Zhi [The Explanation of the Rules for Women], published in the Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644, which for generations was the source of traditional education for Chinese women.

Synopsis:
