La intención original de Gene Kelly al proponer esta película fue educar al gran público sobre el
baile profesional en el mundo. Para lograr esto pensó en un elenco de grandes bailarines de
Europa para cuatro segmentos en papeles principales. El, solo aparecería en uno, el segmento
de la canción popular, que finalmente fue cortado. Pero MGM rehusó realizar la película a menos que
Kelly apareciera en todos los segmentos. Muchos de los profesionales que actuaron en la película
consideran esto su mayor debilidad.

Tras el éxito de "UN AMERICANO EN PARIS" y "CANTANDO BAJO LA LLUVIA", el león de la Metro quería seguir comiendo de las ganancias del cine musical de Gene Kelly. Pero este proyecto se retrasó un par de años y nunca llegó a ser un éxito.

Y es una película ideal: no necesita doblaje ni subtítulos.

Mil gracias locotus, este musical fue muy mal editado por unos grandes almacenes: la imagen desvaída, y el sonido lleno de chaquidos... Al fin una copia con calidad.
